SPECIAL COVERAGE<\/h4>\n

Beneficiaries with special health care needs can get Special Coverage that will provide services for the care they need. The special health care needs are:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Aplastic Anemia<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Rheumatoid Arthritis<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Autism<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Cancer<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Skin Cancer such as Invasive Melanoma or squamous cells with evidence of metastasis.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Skin Cancer \u2013 Carcinoma IN SITU<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Chronic Renal Disease<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Scleroderma<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Amiotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Cystic Fibrosis<\/span><\/li>\n
  11. Hemophilia<\/span><\/li>\n
  12. Leprosy<\/span><\/li>\n
  13. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)<\/span><\/li>\n
  14. Children with Special Health Needs<\/span><\/li>\n
  15. Obstetric<\/span><\/li>\n
  16. Tuberculosis (Tb)<\/span><\/li>\n
  17. HIV\/AIDS<\/span><\/li>\n
  18. Adults with phenylketonuria (PKU)<\/span><\/li>\n
  19. Pulmonary Hypertension<\/span><\/li>\n
  20. Post-Transplant (Excludes cornea, bone, and skin transplant)<\/span><\/li>\n
  21. Chronic Hepatitis C (HCV)<\/span><\/li>\n
  22. Congestive Heart Failure (CHF): Class III & Class IV, NYHA<\/span><\/li>\n
  23. Primary Ciliary Diskinesia (PCD), or Immotile Ciliary Syndrome, or Kartagener Syndrome<\/span><\/li>\n
  24. Cleft palate and of Cleft lips<\/span><\/li>\n
  25.  IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Diseases)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Your PCP or your Primary Medical Group can give you more information on which people qualify for the special coverage. If you qualify for Special Coverage, they can also help you sign up for it.<\/span><\/p>\n

    People with Special Coverage can choose any provider that works with your Preferred Provider Network or your Insurer\u2019s General Network. People with Special Coverage can get prescription drugs, tests and other services through the Special Coverage without a referral or needing their PCP to sign off.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Triple-S Salud will let you know if you are qualified and, will if you are qualified, they must make sure that you get access to the services. Plan Vital Special Coverage will begin when the beneficiary reaches the limits of the Special Coverage for any other health plan.<\/span><\/p>\n
